Job: CarMats.co.uk Warehouse Manager
We’re looking for a Warehouse Manager to run the day-to-day operation of our warehouse here at CarMats.co.uk.
We're an automotive ecommerce business that serves over 300,000 customers a year.
The role is based at our Chesterfield warehouse - the postcode of our warehouse is S41 9QG.
You’ll be responsible for keeping the warehouse running smoothly - goods in, goods out, returns, and making sure orders get picked and out of the door on time.
This is a hands-on role. As well as managing the warehouse you’ll be unloading and loading deliveries and driving the forklift. We already have a dedicated order picker, so you won’t be picking day to day - but we’d expect you to muck in and help out when we’re busy.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing the day-to-day running of the warehouse
- Unloading and loading deliveries
- Operating the forklift truck
- Processing customer returns
- Supporting our order picker at busy times
We’re looking for someone that:
- Holds a valid counterbalance forklift licence
- Is organised and can keep on top of a busy warehouse
- Is happy to get stuck in - this is a hands-on role, not a desk job
- Is ambitious and wants to grow with the company
- Communicates effectively with the rest of the team
Beyond the forklift licence we don’t require specific qualifications.
The role
Location: Chesterfield, S41 9QG, UK
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week - 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 per annum, depending on experience
Holiday: 25 days holiday per annum plus bank holidays
What will your first week look like?
You’ll spend the first week learning how our warehouse works - where everything lives, how an order travels from the website to the packing bench, and how we handle returns.
As part of your induction we’d like you to experience the buying journey yourself, so you really understand where our customers are coming from.
From then on you’ll work closely with our founders to keep the warehouse running and to improve how we do things.

We use some great tools to keep the warehouse moving:
- Shopify - this powers our website
- Linnworks - manages our stock and order processing
- GSuite - for email communication & documentation
